What will I learn in piano lessons?

During lessons, students will begin learning the fundamentals of piano technique, good practice skills, sight reading, and music theory. As students progress, they will learn to better express themselves musically through more rigorous repertoire from different genres and composition.

Can I choose what songs or pieces I learn?

Yes! I firmly believe that students learn best when they are invested in the material they are learning about. As such, I allow my students to choose the repertoire they would like to study. There is always something educationally significant to be found in every song.

What do I need to start?

In order to start, students will need an acoustic piano, an electric piano, or an electric keyboard with key dynamics (it can be played louder or quieter by the touch of the keys). If you have any trouble finding any of these options, please contact me for assistance

What do I learn in voice lessons?

To start, students taking voice lessons will learn proper, healthy singing technique including diaphragmatic breathing, tone production, and navigating their voice breaks. As they progress, students will be able to focus on singing the genres they love.

What do I need to start?

Luckily, as vocalists, our instruments are built into our bodies! All you need to begin voice lessons is your voice and a willingness to learn.

What if I’m not a good singer?

Nonsense! Everyone is on their own personal journey discovering their own unique voice. Taking voice lessons guides you along that journey. No matter what your age is or previous experiences are, if you have a voice you can sing.
