A Composer and Educator.

From a young age, Nathan Dressel has always been a creator. He enjoys the process of creation from inspiration to the delivery of a final product and the dedicated work it takes to get from one to the other. In his early teens, Nathan discovered a talent and love for music which he continues to foster and develop to this day.

An alumnus of the University of Massachusetts - Dartmouth, Nathan completed his Bachelor’s of Arts in music education in 2018. While there, Nathan studied classical piano under the tutelage of Prof. Rieko Tanaka, composition and theory under Dr. Jing Wang, and classical voice and performance under Dr. Tianxu Zhou. It was during this time that the foundation of Nathan’s compositional and performance skills were laid. During this study, while Nathan was steeped in the traditions of classical and contemporary classical music, he never lost the love of film and video game scores, electronic music, and the avant garde that he grew up with.

Currently, Nathan lives in Massachusetts composing and educating the next generation of musicians. He hopes that with his combined passion for composing and educating that he can help foster the creativity of his students while also refining his own. Nathan is always looking for new challenges to overcome and new connections to make with creative visionaries.
